Putu Sutawijaya Studio was founded in 2007 in Yogyakarta by artist Putu Sutawijaya. Aside from being an artist studio, it is also used as a place for artist discussions and as a Sharing Studio. In 2010, Sutawijaya shared his studio with the artist collective House of Matahati (MOH) from Malaysia. Then in 2011 he once again shared his space with Malaysian artist Keow Loang Kiang. In addition, Putu Sutawijaya Studio has welcomed Indonesian artist Samuel Indratma as part of the Sharing Studio initiative. Putu Sutawijaya Studio is located in Nitiprayan, a well-known artist village. Many artists chose to make their home in this area and it is also home to several art institutions.
