Art Merdeka – Theresia Agustina Sitompul
Dk. Jadan Rt. 02 Tamantirto, Kasihan, Bantul, Yogyakarta
Art Merdeka is the studio founded by S. Teddy D. and Theresia Agustina Sitompul. The Art Merdeka name was adopted by S. Teddy D. for the studio because he said "Art Merdeka" is where he received the entire tradition of 'art' – all that has come before and is ongoing – in addition to "Merdeka" (independence) being the way he practiced today. Or, in another way, practicing "art" = "independence". This principle applies not only to the creative process but also in the studio practice, until today. Together with other artist friends we proceed and produce artworks together.
Theresia Agustina Sitompul (1982, Pasuruan, Indonesia) completed a Bachelor of Arts in Printmaking at the Indonesian Institute of Art, Yogyakarta in 2007 and a Postgraduate in Printmaking at the Indonesian Institute of Art, Yogyakarta in 2011.
