Komharo Studio – Komroden Haro

Komharo Studio, located on the banks of the Konteng River in Bayaran village, is the studio of sculptor Komroden Haro. Founded in 2007, the facility houses several buildings including the family residence, Haro's studio, a sculpture workshop as well as indoor and outdoor exhibition space. In 2014, the exhibition facility, which is managed together with TERAS Print Studio, was established and introduced to the public as a space for many kinds of exhibitions and art events. All activities that take place in Komharo Studio are based on the concept of mutual integration.
Komroden Haro (1966, Batu Raja, Indonesia) studied sculpture at Institut Seni Indonesia, Yogyakarta, graduating in 1992. He works in stone, resin, metal and wood to create his sculpture. Early in his career Haro created statues with realistic imagery, eventually turning to predominantly symbolic imagery in his work. He had solo exhibitions in 2011 and 2013 in Yogyakarta and participated in many joint exhibitions. In addition to being a sculptor, he served two terms as chairman of Asosiasi Pematung Indonesia (Indonesian Association of Sculptors), Yogyakarta from 2012-2015. Haro live and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
