Noor Ibrahim Visual Art Studio was founded in 2004 to accommodate the creative practice of artist Noor Ibrahim. After several years developing his studio practice, he created another institution in the same Southwestern area of Yogyakarta in 2012 named Pintu Miring Art Space. Ibrahim fostered an international network through this organization, developing an international residency program and exhibitions including the Terracotta Biennale, which has become one of its most important programs.
 
Noor Ibrahim (1966, Magelang, Indonesia) graduated with a BFA in Sculpture in 1994 and completed post graduate work in 2005, both at Institut Seni Indonesia, Yogyakarta.  Noor Ibrahim articulates his visual expression in the form of masks. His ideas are rooted in a philosophy he inherited from his parents, namely the wisdom of ancient Javanese traditions from the pre-syncretism era, or pre-Hindu and pre-Islamic era. Ibrahim's work was included in important group exhibitions including Tides, Fresh Winds International Art Biennale, Gardur, Iceland, 2015-2016; Indonesian Pavilion, la Biennale di Venezia 51, Venice, Italy, 2005; andJogja Jamming, Jogja Biennale X, Taman Budaya, Yogyakarta, 2009. Solo exhibition includeSociety of Silence, Gallery Igda Caen, Tours – Bordeaux – Toulouse, France, 2013; Imago, Komplex Aruna, Yogyakarta, 2013; and InKonFeSo, Kemang 58, Jakarta, 2012.  Ibrahim lives and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
